Creating Value: The not so fine line between self promotion and canned ham

I would have to agree completely. I tend to delete all comments that are just people spamming trying to get a link. All bloggers could learn from this. There is a fine line between interaction and spamming. It is easier to click a link when someone has left a thoughtful, conversation provoking comment then someone who just says “follow me.”

What are some of your thoughts on this, my awesome followers? Please leave a like here and check the original blog. I promise you will love it if you are a thoughtful blogger.

We all want to offer something that is valuable and important to others, and we all have some type of agenda. Whether that is to satisfy our own desires to write and be read or to make sales or to reach some numerical goal, we all want to be appreciated. This is very true in the world of self marketing and self promotion. As authors, artists, musicians, etc. word of mouth or lack of it can make you or break you. I respect this, I really do. I don’t mean to sound like I don’t appreciate someone who works hard to achieve their goals.

I like to promote other bloggers and authors. I find that putting the time into giving someone a shout out and trying to shed a bit of light on their endeavors is good for myself and them. I love it when I form a connection with…

I just recently finished the book Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer. I decided to try my hand at a book review. This book was assigned as an English class assignment. This was probably one of the best assignments I have done, because hiking and mountain climbing are some of my hobbies, so reading a book about it made it feel like I wasn’t doing homework. EMS News: Washington State Dispatcher Sends Mom to Rescue

EMS News: Washington State Dispatcher Sends Mom to Rescue

I think it is great the common sense thought that went through this dispatchers mind. These people probably were saved from peril  by dispatching good ol’  mom in her Old Town Dirigo kayak. Okay maybe not that kayak, but it is still an act of heroism for all those involved. Many would not have thought this an option, and I’m sure there was some rules broken, but as long as she notified the proper people before her mom I do not see a problem with this.

This is great for a call that could have taken upwards of 20 minutes to get the area response teams on scene to make the rescue. Having someone used to the the waterways made it relatively safe for mom to do the rescue with help from family.

What are some of your thoughts on this? Would you enjoy more articles and my thoughts? Let me know.

The Package Pt.1

“Not more bills!” Jason thought to himself, having just been laid off as he reached into his mailbox to pull out a few envelopes and a package.

“Hmmm, I wasn’t expecting a package.” He opened up this months rent bill and his cellular bill. What he wouldn’t give for a few thousand extra dollars to get him by until he found another ambulance job. Read more…
